Yes, our backlit mechanical keyboard feature full USB n-key rollover. You can press as many keys as possible and with any keys combination. All of them will registered! Yes, even on USB connection!

Here, we will take a moment to explain what is n-Key Rollover.

n-key rollover, often referred to as NKRO for short, is a term that is known and appreciated by many gaming enthusiasts but may not be as widely known as another term, anti-ghosting. Anti-ghosting is a term frequently used by other popular keyboard manufacturers when marketing their products.  It is important to know the difference between the two terms:

N-Key Rollover:
The press of each key on a keyboard can be detected individually, which means that each key you press will be seen by your operating system no matter how many keys you are holding down simultaneously (hence the variable ‘n’ in n-key to refer to as many keys as are possible to press on a keyboard).

Anti-Ghosting:
This can refer to the ability of a keyboard to recognize 3 or more key presses at once. The main thing to point out is that anti-ghosting usually implies that there is a limit on which combinations set of keys and how many of them can be pressed simultaneously, while n-key rollover keyboards have no such limit. The number of simultaneously recognized key presses varies between each model of keyboard that does not have full n-key rollover. In some ways, you can think of anti-ghosting as an attempt by manufacturers to improve functionality of cheaply made rubber dome keyboards, without having to implement proper n-key rollover functionality.

Why Should I Care About It?
It is probably about time to give an example to bring things into context. Some anti-ghosting capability gaming keyboard does not allow you to press certain 3-key combinations like:

CTRL + W + R (Crouch + Forward + Reload)

In  this case, after pressing the first two keys (Ctrl + W), the third key (R) doesn’t register. While key like this may not be used by every gamer, but it is a real problem for some pro gamers. Whether you are a gamer, a photoshop user, or power user of other software you may come across certain 3-key combinations/shortcuts that may not work. The circuitry in keyboards these days is designed in such a way that only certain key combinations work. Engineers optimize the circuitry so that the most common combinations will work, but the inherent drawback with the designs is that there will be combinations that just won’t work.

You can use the demonstration below or by going to the Microsoft Applied Science ghosting demo page .  Click within the demo and start pressing key combinations…

“Bottoming out” is a term used to describe when a key stroke is pressed all the way down where the stem of the switch hits the inside of the switch casing. This causes a “clack” noise. O-Ring rubber sound dampeners are soft rubber O-rings that can be installed onto every single keycap stem to cushion the landing of the switch by stopping the key stroke just short of the point of bottoming out. This also very slightly reduces the max travel distance of the switch. (0.4mm)

This add-on is popular among mechanical keyboard owners from around the world. Since most people will bottom out at least a fraction of their keystrokes, the O-Ring rubber sound dampeners will cut away extra noise giving your mechanical keyboard a consistent sound output while typing. The added shock absorption can also help with finger faitgue during long typing sessions.

Made of industrial grade rubber which has much better resistant to cracking and fits firmly onto the stem of your Cherry MX keycap. Installation will require removal of your keycaps.

Below is a short video demonstrates the sound differences of Max Keyboard Nighthawk mechanical keyboards using Cherry MX Blue, Brown, and Red key switches with and without rubber sound dampening O-rings. (50A O-Rings were used)

  1. Hi I have a set of blank caps. I dropped them and they are now all mixed up. Is there a way to differentiate other than visually matching them based on shape and size?

  4. Hi,

I have a Corsair Strafe RGB keyboard which I use on a Mac. I would like to get a full set of keycaps which have the following features:
Fit the keyboard (OEM 6.5 space bar)
    Keycaps support illumination
Key layout is exactly the same as Apple keyboards (the key closest to the space bar is Command, the key next to that is option/alt, not the other way around)
    Print screen key is F13
    Scroll lock key is F14
    Pause/Break key is F15
    Insert key is fn
F1-F12 function keys have the exact same shortcuts on them as current apple keyboards (brightness, windows, launchpad, media and volume controls)
    What colour choices are available?

Is it possible to get a set like that at all?

    Thanks

    Denis.

  5. I have a Leopold FC660M and thus require two 2.25 Row 1 keys instead of just one. All of your keyboard layout options only include one 2.25 row 1 sized keys. Can this key (shift at 2.25 wide) be individually bought on top of a full set so I have both the keys I require?

    1. We can swap out the R-Shift (R1 2.75) and change it to (R1 2.25). Just let us know if the comment section during checkout.

  6. Good afternoon,
I’m wanting to order some new keycaps for my new CM Storm QuickFire TK, since I prefer to lay out my keyboard in dvorak… but if I do that, my key heights will be all uneven (the rows on the keyboard are leveled, and go with a querty layout by default). I really like all of your customization options, but can you do different fonts for the letters on the keys? I wouldn’t mind something a little closer to what came on my keyboard by default, rather than the standard generic sans-sarif-arial-like font. Thank you for your time.

  7. Need more 1.25x and 1.5x keys, esp. backlit ones… Even if it’s just the different texts available.

Have an oddball keyboard… Thermaltake Poseidon Z, which has 1.25x and 1x modifiers, with a 7x space bar. I can keep the existing space bar, but lack of options in modifiers, esp. backlit ones, makes me hoping you’ll get your backlit custom keys out soon!

  8. Hello, I’ve just build myself a pair of Infinity Ergodox and quite love them. But I would definitely love to get Max Universal Cherry MX Translucent Clear Black Blank keycaps for the perfect finish. Unfortunately, I could only find the full standard set on this site, which doesn’t contain enough 1.5 sized keys. Any chance to buy single keycaps from that series?

  9. Do you have any plans to sell the Translucent black mod packs for WASD, Arrows, and Esc with front printed legends instead of just blank?

  10. Hello, I need a complete set of standard caps keyboard G710 + with Russian layout, how do I buy this product? My keycaps was damaged need to replace them.

  11. Hi, I was wondering if you sold/can make the following backlit keycaps for R1, size 1.25:

    CTRL x2, ALT x2, FN x 1

  12. Hi
i want to purchase a keycap set but i am not sure what spacebar i have 6.25 or 6.00 i have a keycool hero keyboard but is there any way to look it up?

    -Tobias

  13. Hello,

I was just wondering if you may any Cherry MX keycaps or keycap sets that include a stepped capslock key?

    Thanks for your time.

  14. I’m reading reviews and forum posts that the Max Keyboard X8 lights will not work under Linux. However I’m using the backlights and controlling them via the numpad just fine under Fedora Linux 21. Is Linux going to work with this keyboard or not or what does your testing show as not supported.

So far it seems to work for me. However and features and improvements for Linux would be appreciated.

One thing I’d like to suggest, the dimming and brightening of the LEDS does not extend to the Numlock, capslock and “G” lights above the numpad. It would be nice if those would also obey the Fn + 8 / 2 keys as the rest of the LEDs do.

  15. Does the Max Universal Cherry MX Translucent Clear Black Full Keycap Set (Top Print) fit this Deck keyboard? TG3 Electronics KBA-CBL87P-WHT-DPU-G1 DECK 87 KEY WHITE LED BROWN MX SWITCH from antonline (Amazon).

  16. Hello,
I am curious about your keycaps sets. I can’t tell from the photos, but does each row have a unique pitch to it? I don’t use QWERTY, I prefer dvorak and will plan to rearrange the keys on my keyboard, but I want to know if in doing this, will the keys be uniform in pitch, or will they have different angles on them? Thank you for your time to respond.

  17. Plan to buy “MAX UNIVERSAL CHERRY MX TRANSLUCENT CLEAR BLACK FULL KEYCAP SET (TOP PRINT)”. Will they fit on my corsair veganxe k70 cherry mx red switch?
